Stagecoach

(1939)Directed by John Ford96 min · GWestern
“A powerful story of nine strange people.”

In 1939, a stagecoach leaves Tonto bound for Lordsburg with nine passengers, and Apache country lies between them and the end of the line. Among them are Dallas (Claire Trevor), a woman the town has pushed out, and the Ringo Kid (John Wayne), picked up along the road. John Ford sends the coach across open desert, Marshal Curly Wilcox (George Bancroft) riding beside Buck (Andy Devine) on the box, the horses kicking up a long tail of dust.
