“Star date: 1986. How on Earth can they save the future?”

Admiral James T. Kirk (William Shatner) is heading home to Earth with his crew, ready to answer for what they did in the last film. Then a huge alien probe arrives and begins to vaporize the planet's oceans, calling out for humpback whales that no longer exist. Leonard Nimoy, who also plays Captain Spock, sends the crew back in time to find some, and the whole planet is on the clock.
