Start the Revolution Without Me

“Gene Wilder... wilder than ever!”

Claude Coupé (Gene Wilder) is a poor, slow-witted peasant whose twin brother Charles (Donald Sutherland) is every bit as dim. At birth they were swapped with the aristocratic DeSisi twins, and now, on the eve of the French Revolution, all four are pulled into palace intrigue. Bud Yorkin plays the mix-ups as parody of Dickens and Dumas, and the closer the Revolution gets, the more it matters which brother ends up in which brother's clothes.
