“Find the truth”

Cal McAffrey (Russell Crowe), a veteran Washington reporter, wants the story before anyone else gets near it. A congressional aide has been killed, and the Representative she worked for is Stephen Collins (Ben Affleck), Cal's old college friend. With Della Frye (Rachel McAdams) working beside him, Cal follows the case through tips and paperwork, and Kevin Macdonald keeps the procedural detail close and the newsroom pressure steady.
