Stella

“She sacrificed her own dreams to make her daughter's dreams come true.”

In a working-class bar, Stella Claire (Bette Midler) pours drinks and meets Stephen Dallas (Stephen Collins), a blueblood with almost nothing in common with her. They fall in love anyway, and when it falls apart, Stella decides to raise their daughter Jenny (Trini Alvarado) on her own. John Erman directs this third adaptation of the 1923 novel Stella Dallas, and he keeps the camera close to Midler and Alvarado.
