Tyler Gage (Channing Tatum) is a street dancer from Baltimore with a criminal record, sentenced to community service at an elite arts school instead of jail. There he meets Nora Clark (Jenna Dewan), a classical ballet student, and discovers a raw talent worth training. What Tyler learns is that dance, whether in the streets or on stage, is the one place where who you are and what you can become stop being separate things.
