Stepmom

“Be there for the joy. Be there for the tears. Be there for each other.”

Isabel Kelly (Julia Roberts), a New York fashion photographer, wants the children of her boyfriend Luke (Ed Harris) to accept her, and they won't. Their mother, Jackie (Susan Sarandon), has raised Anna (Jena Malone) and Ben (Liam Aiken) herself since the divorce and watches Isabel step into her kitchen. Chris Columbus sets the two women against each other in one household, and then Jackie learns she is ill, and time becomes the thing everyone is bargaining with.
