Stolen Face

(1952)Directed by Terence Fisher72 minDrama, Thriller, Crime
“Treachery wears a stolen face!”

A woman with a convict's scarred face goes under the knife and comes out wearing the face of someone else entirely. Dr. Philip Ritter (Paul Henreid), a plastic surgeon, has built it from the features of the pianist who left him, and Lizabeth Scott plays both the convict and the woman behind the likeness. Terence Fisher treats it as a story about a man who believes he can undo a loss by rebuilding a person.
