Storm Boy

“Wild things should be free.”

On a coastal stretch of South Australia, Mike "Storm Boy" Kingley (Greg Rowe) lives with his reclusive father, Hide-Away Tom (Peter Cummins), and has no one else to talk to. His loneliness starts to ease when he meets Fingerbone (David Gulpilil), an Aboriginal man who lives alone out there, and the two begin caring for a brood of orphaned pelicans. Henri Safran, working from Colin Thiele's novel, gives the wild coastline and its birds as much room as the people.
