“Pudovokin's Remarkable Film Of The East In Revolt”

An amulet found on a wounded Mongolian trapper suggests he descends from Genghis Khan, and the British officers occupying the country decide he is worth more alive than shot. Bair (Valéry Inkijinoff) had been shunned by the other trappers and had joined the Soviet partisans. Pudovkin keeps the camera still while the British nurse him back to health, and the commandant (A. Dedintsev) is sure the puppet he is propping up will do as he is told.
