Story of Women

In occupied France during the Second World War, Marie Latour (Isabelle Huppert) is raising two children while her husband Paul (François Cluzet) sits at home, back from the front with an injury. Claude Chabrol follows her as she begins performing illegal abortions for neighbors, rents a room to a prostitute, and takes a young lover. The money comes easily, and Marie keeps going, a woman built around her own appetites.
