Storytelling

“Sex, race, celebrity, exploitation.”

Vi (Selma Blair) is a college student who sleeps with her writing professor, Mr. Scott (Robert Wisdom), and gets more than she bargained for from his workshop. Todd Solondz splits the film into two stories, the second set among the Livingstons, a suburban New Jersey family whose son Scooby (Mark Webber) is about to be filmed by a documentary maker. In both, people hand their lives over to someone else to shape, and they keep waiting to be told it turned out well.
