Stowaway

(1936)Directed by William A. Seiter87 minAdventure, Family
“She sings and speaks Chinese!”

A little girl named Ching-Ching (Shirley Temple) is lost in Shanghai, and no one around her can say how she got there or where she belongs. Tommy Randall (Robert Young), an American playboy, takes her in, and she falls asleep in his car, which ends up aboard an ocean liner bound for America. William A. Seiter's film leaves her a stowaway with no ticket, no papers, and nobody to claim her.
