“The world's most dangerous times created the world's most dangerous group.”

Ice Cube (O'Shea Jackson Jr.), Dr. Dre (Corey Hawkins) and Eazy-E (Jason Mitchell) are young men in Compton in 1987, turning the anger of their daily lives into rhymes and hardcore beats. With DJ Yella and MC Ren, they form N.W.A, a group the authorities have every reason to want quiet. F. Gary Gray stages their rise as a big, loud ensemble story, and he keeps the camera close to the five of them.
