Strange Circus

“Reality is the mystery…”

A morbid story is taking shape on the page, and its author, the erotic novelist Taeko (Masumi Miyazaki), keeps it from her assistant Yuji (Issei Ishida) until he begins to wonder where it comes from. Sion Sono follows Yuji as he sets out to find what lies behind the book, about a family broken by incest, murder and abuse. The film treats the damage done to a child as a wound that does not stay in the past.
