Strange Gardens
Lucien, fourteen, cannot make sense of his father, a serious, respected teacher, who puts on a clown's costume and gives a show. André (André Dussollier), his father's closest friend, sees how the boy is taking it and decides to tell him about a stretch of their shared past. Jean Becker adapts Michel Quint's novel, and the answer waits with Lucien, still looking at the man in the clown's face.
