Stranger on Horseback

Judge Rick Thorne (Joel McCrea) rides into a cattle town to arrest a man for murder, with no deputies and no guarantee anyone will hand the prisoner over. The man is Tom Bannerman (Kevin McCarthy), son of Josiah Bannerman (John McIntire), the rancher whose money and hired men run the surrounding country.
