“To find the truth they must lose themselves.”

Catherine Parker (Nicole Kidman) wants only to hold her family together in the remote desert town where they have just arrived. Then her two teenage children vanish, and she and her husband Matthew (Joseph Fiennes) are left to search with Detective David Rae (Hugo Weaving), each beginning to suspect the other. Kim Farrant keeps the three of them in the dust of the search, the town's few streets empty around them.
