“Soar to New Heights of Adventure!”

Robert "Dutch" Holland (James Stewart) is at the top of his baseball career when the Air Force recalls him to active duty as a lieutenant colonel. His wife, Sally (June Allyson), is left to wonder what the move means for their life together. Anthony Mann, better known for his Westerns, films the Strategic Air Command at the height of the Cold War, and the bombers get as much screen time as the people.
