Strawberry and Chocolate

In Havana in 1979, Diego (Jorge Perugorría), a flamboyant gay artist, tries to seduce David (Vladimir Cruz), a straitlaced young communist, and gets nowhere. David agrees to befriend him anyway, so he can report on Diego's subversive life to the state. Gutiérrez Alea and Tabío let the two men argue over politics and self-expression, and each visit makes the reporting harder to do.
