Angela (Janet Gaynor) is out of money and out on the street when she is swept into a traveling carnival. There she meets Gino (Charles Farrell), a vagabond painter who wants to paint her portrait. Frank Borzage made it as a silent with a synchronized score and sound effects, so the story runs on faces and intertitles more than dialogue.
