Street Smart

“Never let the truth ruin a good story.”

Jonathan Fisher (Christopher Reeve) is a magazine writer in New York who needs one good story to get noticed, so he makes up an interview with a pimp. Then a real pimp who fits the invented description is charged with murder, and both the prosecutor and the man himself start leaning on Jonathan. Jerry Schatzberg puts Jonathan beside Punchy (Kathy Baker), a street prostitute, in the same neon-lit Times Square he first wrote about from a distance.
