“Raging Island... Raging Passions!”

In the years after the war, Karin Bjornsen (Ingrid Bergman), a Lithuanian woman, marries Antonio Mastrostefano (Mario Vitale), a young Italian from the island of Stromboli. Roberto Rossellini follows her from the marriage to his home, where the life she finds is harder and poorer than the one she imagined. Karin has no way back to what she left, and a bargain made in a hurry now has to hold for a lifetime.
