“A Ballad”

Why does a man warned off drink the day he leaves prison end up halfway across the world? Bruno Stroszek (Bruno S.) comes out with a glockenspiel and an accordion and plays for coins on the street, then leaves West Berlin with Eva (Eva Mattes) and the old neighbor Scheitz (Clemens Scheitz) for Wisconsin. Werner Herzog wrote it for Bruno S., and the glockenspiel and accordion come along on the trip.
