Stuart Saves His Family

“You'll laugh because it's not your family. You'll cry because it is.”

Stuart Smalley (Al Franken) hosts a public-access self-help show nobody watches, and he wants his own family to be the one thing he can fix. They are Mom (Shirley Knight), Dad (Harris Yulin), his brother Donnie (Vincent D'Onofrio), and a sister-in-law, all of them as troubled as he suspects. Harold Ramis builds the film from Franken's Saturday Night Live sketches, and the family Stuart came from does not change on his schedule.
