Such a Pretty Little Beach
A man gives his name only as Pierre (Gérard Philipe) and takes a room in the one hotel still open in a seaside town, in the cold, rainy off-season. He seems to know the place, yet offers no reason for being there, and the people around him start to notice. Yves Allégret keeps him mostly at the edges of the frame, and Pierre says as little as he can.
