Suite Française

“Forced to host the enemy. Tormented by intruders. Tempted by desire.”

Lucile Angellier (Michelle Williams) wants only to wait out the war quietly in her small French town, under the eye of her controlling mother-in-law (Kristin Scott Thomas), with her husband a prisoner somewhere. When German soldiers are billeted in the villagers' homes, a refined officer, Lieutenant Bruno Von Falk (Matthias Schoenaerts), takes a room in theirs. Saul Dibb follows Lucile as she tries to ignore him and slowly stops being able to.
