“A true tale of love, liberty and scandal amongst the Edwardian artists' colony in Cornwall”

Why does a young woman from outside the colony, Florence Carter-Wood (Emily Browning), end up at the center of two men's lives in the Lamorna Valley? The painter AJ Munnings (Dominic Cooper) and the estate's land agent, Gilbert Evans (Dan Stevens), both want her, in a Cornish artists' colony alongside Laura Knight (Hattie Morahan), just before the Great War. Christopher Menaul follows Florence as she tries to become a painter herself.
