Summer of '42

(1971)Directed by Robert Mulligan103 min · PGComedy, Drama, Romance
“In everyone's life there's a "Summer of '42"”

On Nantucket in the summer of 1942, three friends, Hermie (Gary Grimes), Oscy (Jerry Houser) and Benjie (Oliver Conant), spend their days on the beach and think mostly about girls. Hermie's attention settles on Dorothy (Jennifer O'Neill), a married woman whose husband has just gone off to fight. Robert Mulligan, working from screenwriter Herman Raucher's memoir, treats a boy's first crush as the biggest thing that has ever happened to him.
