“MGM brings on the show with music - dancing - Technicolor”

A whole troupe of actors turns up at Jane Falbury's (Judy Garland) New England farm, invited by her sister Abigail (Gloria DeHaven), who never mentioned it to her. Jane puts them to work on the chores in exchange for food, and the director, Joe D. Ross (Gene Kelly), pitches in with the rest. Charles Walters stages the story around the barn, and Jane's growing feeling for Joe is a problem, since he is her sister's fiancé.
