Summer Things

Two couples set off on holiday together, one of them rich and the other close to homeless, and Julie, a single mother, comes along. Michel Blanc, who also plays Jean-Pierre, fills the seaside with tangled attractions, a jealous brother, a nervous couple and a daughter secretly in Chicago. Elizabeth (Charlotte Rampling) and Bertrand (Jacques Dutronc) are at the center, and the film keeps asking what a long marriage has left to hold it together.
