Sumurun

Sumurun (Jenny Hasselqvist) is the favorite slave of a tyrannical sheik (Paul Wegener), and she has fallen in love with a cloth merchant. Elsewhere in the story, Yeggar the hunchback (Ernst Lubitsch), a clown who performs for a living, loves Yannaia (Pola Negri), a traveling dancer who only wants a place in the harem. Lubitsch's silent pantomime keeps its figures at a distance, the clown watching the dancer who never looks at him.
