Sunday Bloody Sunday

(1971)Directed by John Schlesinger110 min · RDrama
“It's about three decent people. They will break your heart.”

Alex Greville (Glenda Jackson) and Dr. Daniel Hirsh (Peter Finch) share a lover in London, and each of them knows it. The lover is Bob Elkin (Murray Head), a young artist who comes and goes as he pleases, and neither of them can say why they put up with the waiting. John Schlesinger keeps the camera close on their kitchens and telephones, so that the arrangement is felt in small, ordinary silences.
