“A Hollywood Story: Sensational...Daring...Unforgettable...Sunset Blvd”

In Hollywood in 1950, Joe Gillis (William Holden) is a screenwriter with no work and a car the repo men are after. He ducks into the overgrown mansion of Norma Desmond (Gloria Swanson), a silent film star who has been forgotten and will not admit it. Wilder keeps Joe in her house, taking her money and her script, while he stops being able to say which of them he is working for.
