“The machine is coming”

Cities are being taken out of the sky, and Clark Kent (Matt Bomer) is a reporter in Metropolis keeping that secret from Lois Lane (Stana Katic). The cause is Brainiac (John Noble), a cybernetic collector who claims the knowledge and strength of 10,000 worlds. James Tucker sends Superman and his cousin Kara (Molly C. Quinn) up against him, and everything they have left, including Earth itself, is on the table.
