Support Your Local Sheriff!

(1969)Directed by Burt Kennedy92 min · GComedy, Western
“Bad men... Bad ladies... Bad horses...”

Why would a stranger pinned a badge on in a lawless mining town stay, when he took the job only for the pay and means to ride out the moment things turn rough? Jason McCullough (James Garner) is the stranger, and Burt Kennedy sets him against Pa Danby (Walter Brennan) and his sons, with Prudy Perkins (Joan Hackett) watching from the mayor's house. The film keeps its straight face while the town's ideas about law get quietly rearranged.
