Surcos

Pepe (Francisco Arenzana) leaves the farm and brings his family to Madrid around 1950, sure the city will give them the work and the roof the land no longer does. They squeeze in with his wife's sister, and the work and the rooms they find are mostly the kind no one will vouch for. José Antonio Nieves Conde follows each of them into the city's black market and back alleys, and the father holds the family together by refusing to see what it costs.
