Surviving Life (Theory and Practice)

A man leads two lives, one awake and one in his dreams, and he cannot account for either. Milan (Václav Helšus) visits an analyst, Dr. Holubova (Daniela Bakerová), who sets out to decode the dreams, and he finds he can step back into them whenever he likes. Jan Švankmajer builds the dream world from photographs cut into paper puppets, and at its center is the woman Milan keeps meeting there, Milada (Klára Issová), the one person who belongs to both halves of him.
