“Who's next?”

Thomas Mackelway (Aaron Eckhart) is an FBI agent with a reputation for bending the rules, sent to a field office in New Mexico alongside his former partner Fran Kulok (Carrie-Anne Moss). The case turns on a killer whose victims are other serial killers, and Benjamin O'Ryan (Ben Kingsley) keeps surfacing in the evidence. E. Elias Merhige, who made Shadow of the Vampire, shoots the investigation in tight, unsettling frames that crowd the characters.
