Svengali
“He hypnotizes! He thrills...! Any woman caught in his spell must obey.”
Svengali (John Barrymore) is a musical maestro in late 19th-century Paris, a sinister man who has learned to use hypnotism on other people. Trilby O'Farrell (Marian Marsh), an artist's model, falls under his control, and Archie Mayo follows the two of them as he turns her into a famous opera singer. Her voice belongs to the stage, but the mind behind it belongs to him.
