(1941)Directed by Jean Renoir90 minCrime, Drama
“The Swamp! Sinister - mysterious - it shaped the lives and loves and hates of the people who lived around its edges!!”

Ben Ragan (Dana Andrews), a young hunter in the Georgia swamp country, wants nothing so much as to prove himself, and he goes into the Okefenokee after a lost hunting dog. There he comes across a fugitive and his daughter living out of sight, Tom Keefer (Walter Brennan) and Julie (Anne Baxter). Jean Renoir shot on location in the swamp, and Ben, drawn to Julie, begins to risk his place in town for them.
