Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

“Never forget. Never forgive.”

A man steps off a ship in London under a name that is not his own, and he walks straight to Fleet Street. Sweeney Todd (Johnny Depp) opens a barber shop above Mrs. Lovett's (Helena Bonham Carter) failing pie shop, and the two strike up a partnership neither of them mentions out loud. Tim Burton sets Stephen Sondheim's songs in a washed-out Victorian city, and Todd's chair waits for Judge Turpin (Alan Rickman).
