Sweet Home Alabama

“Sometimes what you're looking for is right where you left it.”

Melanie (Reese Witherspoon) is a New York fashion designer who has just gotten engaged to the city's most eligible bachelor, Andrew (Patrick Dempsey). Before she can marry him, she has to go back to Alabama and get a divorce from the husband she never told anyone about. Andy Tennant sets her against Jake (Josh Lucas), who left with the same stubbornness she did and still won't sign the papers.
