All Kay (Karen Colston) wants is an ordinary life with her new boyfriend Louis (Tom Lycos), and she keeps herself safe by trusting in signs and omens. Then her sister Sweetie (Geneviève Lemon) turns up at the door, loud and careless, and the rot in the family starts to show. Jane Campion lets Kay hold onto her small, fragile order while Sweetie moves in and takes up all the room.
