Swept Away

Gennarino Carunchio (Giancarlo Giannini), a communist deckhand, only wants to get through a summer cruise in the Mediterranean without taking any more orders from the passengers than he has to. The worst of them is Raffaella Pavone Lanzetti (Mariangela Melato), a rich, sharp-tongued woman who treats the crew as furniture. Lina Wertmüller strands the two of them alone on a desert island, where her wealth and his politics count for nothing against hunger.
