Swing Kids

“In a world on the brink of war. You either march to one tune or dance to another.”

Peter Müller (Robert Sean Leonard) and Thomas Berger (Christian Bale) dance to banned American swing records with their friends at night, then put on Hitler Youth uniforms the next morning. As the Nazis tighten their hold on Germany, each friend has to decide how far he will go to stay safe. Thomas Carter, making his feature debut, stages the dance scenes with real exuberance, so the music stays loud against everything closing in.
