Swing Time

Lucky Garnett (Fred Astaire) is a gambler and dancer who misses his own wedding to Margaret, then has to earn $25,000 before her father will let him marry her. In New York he meets Penny Carrol (Ginger Rogers), a dance instructor, and they start working up a routine that lands them real engagements. George Stevens treats the dancing as the way two people say what they cannot yet say out loud.
