In 1963 France, five fraudsters pull together to take a narcotics deal that two rival drug gangs are fighting over. Clavet (Michel Auclair) and Valoti (Claude Dauphin) sit at the table with Paoli (Charles Vanel), each man sizing up the others. Jacques Deray's crooks have taken on dangerous people, and the money was never going to be split evenly.
