“They took his daughter. He'll take their lives.”

A phone call from Paris breaks off mid-sentence, and Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) hears his daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) being taken while he is still on the line. He is a former government operative who had only just begun to repair things with her, and the clock starts the moment the line goes dead. Pierre Morel keeps him moving at a dead run, and the film is about how far a father will go for his child.
