Tales That Witness Madness

(1973)Directed by Freddie Francis90 min · RHorror, Comedy, Science Fiction
“An Orgy of the Damned! It happens beyond madness - where your mind won't believe what your eyes see.”

Dr. Nicholas (Jack Hawkins) visits an asylum run by his colleague Tremayne (Donald Pleasence), who keeps four patients he believes are madder than anyone should be. Tremayne has a theory for each, and the causes include a time-travelling bicycle, a toy tiger, a tree stump and a ritualistic luau. Freddie Francis directs the four stories straight-faced, as though each one were simply what happened.
